A Majestic Hanuman Temple of Shivpuri - Bankde Hanuman Mandir

There are many places in Shivpuri that attract peoples. Shivpuri have a number of beautiful places and tourist spots including some majestic temples.One of the grand and wonderful temples of Shivpuri is Bankde Hanuman Temple which is dedicated to Lord Hanuman.

Shri Bankde Hanuman 

Bankde Hanuman Mandir is a Hindu sacred place which is situated in the dense forest area of madhav national park. As the priest of temple the temple is established in 934 AD. According to the statues found in the renovation of temple ASI stated that temple was established in the 11th century.This temple have a very large area and also had a big cowshed (Gaushala). People of all religion comes here from across the country and feel blessed It is belived that here the hanuman ji fulfill the demands of people very soon.The temple has the remains  of the ancient city found in two adjacent regions which is marked by the revenue records of Chirag village of Wankra.The craft of the temple and sanctum  sanctorum of the temple was build as lion gate. In past the Scindia Ruler of Gwalior H.H. Maharaja Madhorao Scindia renovated the temple and constructed a road for peoples. When Madho maharaj used to live in shivpuri on every Tuesday he presents the Bhog of Sawamani Roti to the lord Hanuman with his all royal family members. The temple is also mentioned in the Hanuman Annk of famous religious book named Kalyan by Geeta press Gorakhpur.At present the maintenance of the temple is in the hand of Shri Giriraj Maharaj (priest of the temple).The statues ASI got here in the excavation are secured in the Archological museum of Gujri Mahal Gwalior Fort in Gwalior which are shown as found in Kota Village of Shivpuri.
